Episode 79 - Why Community Matters

My #1 Core Value is “Community.”  And by that, I mean “a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals,” which is (coincidentally) one of the dictionary definitions of the word. 

Why is Community vital to your flourishing?

1. Shared camaraderie - knowing we aren’t alone and are accepted
2. It can be a barrier to threat or harm
3. Helps us understand who we are
4. Provides a sense of purpose and spirit of intention
5. We band together for the greater good

How is Community Achievable?
Grow it organically and with intention

1. Personal Community
   1. Be open to meeting people and adding value to their lives
   2. Live the tenets of Intentional Optimism
2. Structured Community
   1. Determine what you need, and go find it
   2. Or, create your own with a purposeful design
